The Freedom to Begin Again

woman smiling outside at outpatient rehabAs regards the levels of care, the next step down after intensive outpatient care is a level called simply “outpatient rehab.” In an addiction treatment program, individuals struggling with substance abuse issues learn how to manage their addiction in their everyday lives. Fresh Start Recovery Center’s outpatient program in MD can help you or someone you care about to develop healthy coping strategies as they continue on their road to recovery. If you have been through earlier levels of care like a residential inpatient program, a partial hospitalization program, or intensive outpatient rehab, our outpatient addiction treatment program might be right for you.

Is Outpatient Rehab Right for You?

In an outpatient rehab program, patients live at home or in sober-living community housing. But they spend several hours a week at our outpatient addiction treatment program continuing their treatment. At a world-class outpatient rehab program like the one at Fresh Start, patients participate in a broad range of activities, including addiction and nutrition education, recreational activities, and group therapy. This combination of supplemental treatment allows patients to build the skills they need to navigate their everyday lives.

Outpatient rehab is often the concluding step of a rehabilitation journey. Many of the individuals in our outpatient program in MD, for instance, have received previous levels of care. But some people also start at this level. So are you a good candidate for outpatient rehab? An excellent place to start is by asking yourself the following questions:

  • Have you completed a more intensive program for addiction treatment, like a partial hospitalization program or intensive outpatient rehab?
  • Are you well enough that you are ready to begin returning to work or school, and to attend to your other responsibilities?
  • Do you have a strong network of support outside of an addiction treatment center?
  • Do you feel that you are well on your way to having the life skills and coping strategies to manage future challenges when it comes to addiction?

Outpatient addiction treatment is not the right first choice for everyone. But if you can answer “yes” to any of the above, the program at Fresh Start Recovery Center might be right for you.

Outpatient Rehab at Fresh Start Recovery Center

Outpatient rehab is the least intensive of the addiction treatment programs we offer at Fresh Start Recovery. We aim to provide you with continued education and treatment while giving you more accountability than you might find outside of treatment. At Fresh Start, our staff will continue to work with you on developing a positive, achievable, recovery-focused plan of action. And you will be putting that plan into practice in the real world every day.

As you reenter your life drug- and alcohol-free, you will have more freedom. But with that freedom comes responsibility, stress, and temptation. In outpatient rehab, our specific goal is to help you navigate those waters by giving you the tools that you need and helping you to build a strong support network outside of our walls.

Another primary focus in our outpatient addiction treatment program is wellness. At Fresh Start, we will help you develop an exercise regimen, give you lessons in about nutrition, and help you to establish healthy habits and routines. Your physical well-being is the cornerstone of good mental health and avoiding relapse, and so we make it a priority.
